Finalist, 2011 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize

ARTWORK SUMMARY: The title of my sculpture comes form the peom The Raven by Edar Allen Poe.  The Raven follos an unnamed narrator who sits reading “forgottenlore” as a method to forget the loss of his love, Lenore.  The work is also referening a line from the peom Night’s Plutonian Shore, which is Hades or The Underworld.  I reasearched the creatures that guide the souls into the underworeld and found that thet were often amimals.  The reins symbolize the deer being a means of transport into Hades.
